Discover the vibrant flavors of Central America at Los Lagos, a hidden gem nestled in Houston, Texas. This Salvadoran restaurant has captured the hearts of its patrons with its authentic dishes and welcoming atmosphere. Customers rave about the pupusas, especially the chicken and cheese variety, which is served with a tangy pickled cabbage and salsa — a match made in culinary heaven. Didi Bèl praises the cleanliness and friendly service, highlighting the first-time experience of tasting pupusas.
The friendly staff, including attentive young servers, adds a personal touch that enhances the dining experience. Customers like Jesus Barrera appreciate the reasonable pricing and kindness of the team, even amidst the cozy, sometimes crowded setting. Jorge Serrano notes that while the ambiance may feel a bit cramped and loud at times, the deliciousness of the huevos rancheros and other breakfast items makes it all worthwhile.
If you're craving something special, Kevin Pham recommends the pollos tajada, a beautifully fried chicken served with fried plantains and pickled onions. Edgar Torres reminds us that the fresh preparation of each dish may take time, but the wait is undeniably worth it. Overall, Los Lagos stands out as a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic Central American cuisine in a friendly, if intimate, setting. Don't miss this delightful culinary adventure!

Food taste authentic Central American. The service was great. Specially the young boy and girl, they are very friendly and courteous. The atmosphere is ok, just because it's too small. Sometimes the sit people in your table. So you are sharing table with strangers. Kind of awkward. But overall, great place to eat and reasonable prices.

This is the place for authentic Central American cuisine. I'm easy to please and tend to stick to my usual "Huevos Rancheros" breakfast. The order comes with refried beans, crema, and fried plantains. It's very tasty and filling. And at 13 the price is great! I give it 4 stars for the atmosphere only because I feel like the music is a little loud for me. Although I usually bring my earbuds so it's not a big deal. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this place.

Wife is Salvadoran, and we stumbled across this amazing little hole in the wall. We used to go to Los Piples, but it is just super expensive for alright food compared to Los Lagos. The pupusas is delicious but they put a little too much cheese. The beans and the chicharron inside the pupusa tastes great. The currtido a d salsa has a little kick to it which enhances the pupusa. My favorite is their pollos tajada. Beautifully fried chicken with fried plantains, cabbage, pickled onions, and some sort of sauce on top. Would recommend 10/10

Very good, authentic Salvadoran and Honduran food. Everything is made fresh, so cook times are longer than what you might be used to, but worth the wait.
